The Department of Childhood Studies graduate studies is now accepting applications. Funding for the PhD program is available for qualified applicants.

Application Deadline
Prospective graduate students may apply online through Graduate Admissions.
Ph.D. program applications are due January 17 of the year preceding the fall semester in which you wish to begin. Funding is available to qualified Ph.D. applicants on a competitive basis.
Master of Arts program applicants are accepted throughout the year
Admission Requirements
Admission to the Ph.D. program is based on a combination of undergraduate (and graduate, if applicable) transcripts with a minimum 3.2 GPA, GRE scores (The Graduate Records Examination (GRE) has been waived for all prospective graduate students applying to the doctoral program in the 2024-25 academic year), statement of purpose, and letters of recommendation. Admissions decisions are based on a combination of the candidates’ academic qualifications and their match with areas of faculty expertise (these areas are described on the faculty page).
Admission to the M.A. program is based on a combination of undergraduate (and graduate, if applicable) transcripts with a minimum 3.0 GPA, statement of purpose, and letters of recommendation. Students who complete the master’s program and who then wish to pursue a Ph.D. must complete a separate application to the Ph.D. program.
